About Me
I live in Ottawa and am a vendor with a booth at McHaffie Flea market (Morrisburg) and Ebay. I specialize in helping people turn collectibles into cash, without stress, pressure, or judgment.
I love this world: the history, the stories, the people, the finds. My goal is to make selling simple and comfortable, especially during downsizing or estate situations. If you’re not sure what you have, that’s okay. I’ll help you figure it out.Text photos to: 613-302-3200

If you’re not sure what something is worth, I’m happy to help you understand the value before you decide.

“Carl made the process easy and offered me a fair price for my collectibles. I was happy with how everything was handled.”— Donna

“Carl was friendly, easy to deal with, and made selling the estate items a simple process.”— Erin

How does this whole thing go?

HOW MY BUYING PROCESS WORKSOnce you send me an email or a few pictures of what you want to sell, I’ll go through them and usually get back to you fairly quickly.DO YOU HAVE A PRICE IN MIND?I usually ask whether you have an amount you are hoping to get. This isn’t necessary, but if you do have a number in mind it can really speed up and simplify the process.HOW DO I FIGURE OUT VALUE?Next, I’ll spend some time looking at the pictures and researching the items you have described. For values, I mainly use actual eBay sold listings. It’s the source I trust most because it shows what items have really sold for, rather than what someone is hoping to get.I generally don’t rely on eBay asking prices, price guides, or other websites because they can sometimes give a misleading idea of value.HOW MUCH DO I PAY?I hate to say it, but it depends! When I make an offer, I take several things into account, including:* What similar items have actually sold for
* How much demand there is
* How quickly or easily I think the items will sell
* The condition of the items
* How much work will be involved in sorting, cleaning, listing, storing, or selling them
* Whether the items fit the kinds of things I normally sell
Some items may have a decent retail value but take a long time to sell. Others may be very easy for me to move. That all affects what I can reasonably offer.WHAT IF YOU’RE HAPPY WITH MY OFFER?Great! We can arrange for me to pick the items up, for you to drop them off, or to meet somewhere neutral if you prefer.WHAT IF YOU THINK YOUR ITEMS ARE WORTH MORE?No problem at all.We can talk it through and see why our numbers are different. Valuing collectibles is partly a science and partly judgment, and reasonable people can sometimes come to different conclusions. If we can’t agree on a price, that’s completely fine. There is never any obligation to sell to me.And if you change your mind later, you are always welcome to get back in touch. As long as the items and their condition haven’t changed, I’ll generally be happy to honour the offer I gave you.WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I PICK THE ITEMS UP?When I arrive, I’ll give everything a quick look over to make sure it matches what we discussed, pay you, load it up, and get out of your hair!My goal is to keep the whole process simple, straightforward, and low pressure.
